The Skinny on the Tags

One of the questions we see/hear most often in our chat group on facebook, Peace. Love. AppleCheeks. is about tags. Here's our side of the tag story, and a quick history on each paired up with their common names on the boards (we just call them tags).

Vintage Tag This is the oldest of the tags and was in use when AppleCheeks was first launched. It was our first attempt at tagging diapers and while it's great, it isn't exactly what we were looking for, so it wasn't used for too long.

Skinny Apple The second generation of AppleCheeks tags, this one has our old logo on it. "Skinny Apple" refers to the size of the apple on the tag - the 'c' in "AppleCheeks". We used this tag for years and it was great, but when we updated our logo in 2011, it was time to update the tag too! You can tell the difference between a Skinny Apple and Vintage tag because skinny apple includes both the "TM" trademark on our logo, and the .ca to point folks to our webiste - the vintage tag is simply the AppleCheeks (with a skinny apple) logo.

Fat Apple As the brand grew, our apples did too. Just kidding... but seriously, the apple (in place of the 'c') in our logo needed some beefing up. We wanted to create an image that would shout AppleCheeks to anyone that was familiar with the brand. We added a little width to our existing apple and the new logo was born, sporting the apple you have all come to know and love. With the advent of a new apple, we also needed new tags to keep our branding consistent and easily recognizable.

Specials As we started releasing special diapers with snap or fleece changes, we wanted to be sure our fans would be able to tell the difference between an AppleCheeks original, and a custom others make. This, paired with the desire to include retailer branding on Retailer Exclusive diapers led us to start creating smaller batches of Special Tags... plus, it's just fun! For now, special tags are only found on special diapers ;)

So there's no size difference in the diaper itself, just the apple on the tag?

In case anyone finds this and is looking for the same answer, yes there is a size difference. I got a (surprise!) skinny tag last week and it was smaller than all my others that have the fat apple (although my daughter is still on the same snap settings, so the difference doesn't seem to be that big).
